The Telegraph’s Rock as known as Pedra do Telégrafo is in Barra de Guaratiba, a 40 minutes ride from the South Zone of Rio (Copacabana). It is a hidden gem, located on the west side of the city. The spot has an amazing view of the wild beaches of Rio and has been catching the attention of locals and travelers. We have an incredible view of the White Stone State Park Parque Estadual da Pedra Branca (The largest urban rain forest in the world) on one side and the other side of the amazing view of Restinga of Marambaia. The rock has become a social media phenomenon because its angle creates a fake abyss that makes some amazing photos.

It takes about 30 minutes to hike up the mountain, it has over 1000 feet height above sea level. The hike is steep in the middle of a wild forest. On our way back, we will drive panoramic along a couple of beaches such as Grumari and Prainha with a stop in a lovely beach called Praia da Reserva, all stunning places, where we can relax in a beach lounge and enjoy a drink and eat some delicious snacks. The early morning half-day hiking tour is the best option for those who want to avoid lines due to the big lines that form every single day. The place is amazing but also full of mosquitoes, so please bring bug spray. if you’re not a big fan of pictures or social media, it’s worth it to visit the place for the amazing view. Note that, some of the most popular hills in Rio will give you urban scenarios mixed with nature, which is also amazing.
